Carter's Cookbook is the first self-published book by New Zealand-born home cook Carter Were, now based near Byron Bay, Australia.

Her recipes are simple, practical and easy to follow, using ingredients that are readily available. They are also good starting points for adapting to what you have in the kitchen or changing a recipe to suit your own tastes. The books are deliberately laid out with plenty of white space around the recipes, leaving room to write notes, make substitutions and record your own changes. This is a cookbook to use, scribble in and make your own.
