Hariko Maneki-neko (Cat), White, Large

Made from at least five layers of paper that is moulded on wooden blocks (see process photos), then hand painted. These are unique. This cat is white and the bigger option of the two white cats we sell. The writing on the cat means 'good luck'. There is a bell inside the cat. This is hand made by Furukawa-san in Kyoto. It is a decorative handicraft item, for your shelf or display. The writing on the cat means 'Good Luck'.

Size: 19.5cm tall, 13.5cm wide, 13.5cm deep.

Hariko is a traditional folk craft in Japan. Furukawa-san was inspired to start papier-mache making from when he used to tour all over Japan during his days playing the banjo.
