Hariko Maneki-neko (Cat), White, Small

Made from at least five layers of paper that is moulded on wooden blocks (see process photos), then hand painted. These are unique. There is a bell inside the cat. It is a decorative handicraft item, for your shelf or display. The cat is to bring good fortune. This cat is white and the smaller option of the two white cats we sell. 

Size: 10.5cm tall, 7.5cm wide, 7.5cm deep.

Hariko is a traditional folk craft in Japan. Furukawa-san was inspired to start papier-mache making from when he used to tour all over Japan during his days playing the banjo. Furukawa-san makes these from his studio in Kyoto in his old family Chinese Medicine shop.
