These clips are made in Japan by Nanmoku; a family-run manufacturer that has specialised exclusively in aluminium clips since the 1940's.

These clips were originally designed as a clothing peg. Being made from aluminium means they are lightweight, resistant to rust, rain and prolonged sun exposure, making them durable for outdoor use. They are also handy indoors for closing opened bags, clipping notes and paper stacks together or clipping things onto grid racks. The smaller size is handy for closing little packs of things like spices.

Nanmoku is now in its fourth generation and is the only company left in Japan making aluminium clips. The aluminium is smelted and rolled in-house before being formed into each clip.
